Only candidates who are financial members of the Society at the time of nomination will be eligible for award.Candidates must be under the age of 30 at the closing date for nominations. The same piece of work cannot be considered twice for award.

The eighth International Congress of Plant Pathology (ICPP2003) was held in Christchurch, New Zealand from the 2nd to the 8th of February 2003. This Congress incorporated the 14th Biennial Conference of the Australasian Plant Pathology Society.
Professor RE Ruffin has been President of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TZANZ) and Dr Simon Koblar received the Alan Kerr-Grant Award for Teaching at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
